Felis Bengalensis ajax MMXVI
, hand-rolled silk twill scarf series
It is morning when I find him curled into a ball - twisting, turning and exposing his belly of spots. The sounds of rumbling rhythms cascade throughout his elongated body as he preforms for me a series of somersaults in clouds of duvet. In this moment I fall captive to his spell and want embody my own version of turning spinal articulations and elasticated muscular movements. Pure joy!
All the meanwhile, this creative little creature is bold, strong and a warrior. In a single moment he is able to react to a sound of prey outside and seek his moment of hunt. Ajax truly exemplifies what is possible when living a life of nurture and nature - the potential for embrace, exchange, and instinct.

Felis Bengalensis MAXIMUS MMXVI
,
hand-rolled silk twill scarf series
He places himself high above, looking down and across his panoramic view observing something I cannot explain because I am human. Possibly he sees behaviours, energies, details in garments, markings on the architecture. Possibly he senses my heat, my cold, my heart beat. I am not sure and this known-unknown is what led me to sketch Maximus.
To be in his gaze, slow blinking and setting aside my agenda. It is in this moment I record memories in my felt sense and develop an appreciation for the shared rhythms that life truly is underneath all its visual constructs.

Felis Bengalensis the twins MMXVI
, hand-rolled silk twill scarf series
From the beginning these two cheeky monkeys in cat suits played in twirls, creating spirals, turns, spins, leaps, and preformed astounding acrobatics. Beside myself with the gift of witnessing such feats, their play is pure expression of health and connection with another in a relational field unseen by the eye but felt by the body.
The Twins is a study of their playfulness, endearment, and compassion for one another during play and their flora surroundings act as a peek for the viewer into what and where they might transport to spiritually during these moments of tumbling dance.
Silk scarf sizes available: 45x45cm, 90x90cm, 133x133cm
